Overview

  • This position is responsible for the management and support of several retail grocery accounts.  As a support to account leads, he/she has responsibility for execution of strategic plans, business plans, customer sales presentations, budgeting, new product development, new item set up, forecasting, sales reporting and customer relationship management.

Responsibilities

Business/Functional Results

 

  • Achieve budgeted goals for area of accountability
  • Support account team in the development of sales plans
  • Increase Chelten House business connectivity with customers
  • Manage day to day tasks involved with key accounts
  • Provide best in class customer service and responsiveness

Managing Execution

  • Work with Sales lead to identify critical customer initiatives and key relationships at all levels of the account. Work with the team to lay out short and long term plans to achieve targeted goals and ensure customer relationships are managed with excellence. 
  • Develop expert understanding of Chelten House product line and capabilities
  • Develop expert understanding of category trends and insights
  • Demonstrate functional expertise in all facets of Private Brand via on-the-job development, educational and networking opportunities
  • Develop strong cross functional team relationships by obtaining alignment and developing and delivering on mutually established goals.
  • Ensuring appropriate amount of support (time & resource allocation) for our top relationships

Strategic Partnership

  • Execute new strategic initiatives for the account or the assigned categories
  • Elevate the conversation with customer to the strategy level, within assigned categories
  • Manage the Chelten House value equation with appropriate stakeholders and ensure it is understood and advanced
  • Support and provide guidance with customer issues relating to cost/value
  • Foster thought leadership within account team
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Private Brand landscape, best practices and where customers currently exist in these areas

Managing Relationships

  • Owns associate-level relationships with assigned customer 
  • Directs, delegates and empowers effectively

Qualifications

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA/Graduate Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience required; Private brand experience a must
  • Ability to gain intimate knowledge of accounts business practices, organizational structure and Private Brand philosophy
  • Demonstrated ability to work remote
  • Functional Knowledge and Business Expertise Required
  • Ability to contribute to setting and achieving budgets
  • Good grasp of Product Development, Marketing, Retail, Category Management, and Logistics
  • Highly effective in building and maintaining customer and associate relationships
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced level of Excel, PPT and MS Office
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
