The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing day to day activities of all warehouse operational functions and supervising warehouse team members. Plans and assigns shipments, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in the warehouse methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Forklift Operators, Warehouse Coordinator, and Inventory Positions to coordinate warehouse activities, such as shipping, receiving, storage and inventory levels and accuracy
  • Manage daily activity of all shipping, receiving and inventory warehouse employees to assure a high level of internal and external customer service
  • Coordinate activities of distribution warehouse with activities of sales, record control, and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise
  • Ensure documented procedures and processes are in place and all warehouse personnel trained on them
  • Act as a liaison between manufacturing and customer service
  • Interview, select, and train warehouse and supervisory employees
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses, including equipment, products, and supplies; orders testing, maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed
  • Manage inventory controls, returns, product damage, material transactions, and inventory balances
  • Assure coordination of inventory transfers and physical inventories
  • Define, develop, and set metrics for internal warehouse personnel
  • Identify and install best practices for warehouse management
  • Provide specific electronic reports (metrics) as required
  • Train/cross-train warehouse associates on all company required policies and programs including OSHA and other safety regulations, and security of assets
  • Oversee food safety program, quality standards, and legality of products manufactured in the facility
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related degree preferred
  • Minimum (5) years of progressive and demonstrated warehouse and or distribution center management experience
  • Proven fiscal responsibility (financial planning, budgeting, financial analysis, variance reporting, etc.)
  • Strong computer skills including experience with WH Management Systems, ERP systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Ability to speak confidently and work effectively with both warehouse staff and senior business stake holders.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Strong technical, problem solving, planning and process skills
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (i.e. Lean Six Sigma Certification) is a plus
