    The Project Manager (PM) partners with cross-functional team members to drive projects through the commercialization process.  The PM is responsible for communications and clear delivery of project guidelines from project kickoff to launch.   This includes but is not limited, to successfully planning project meetings, developing and managing timelines, setting clear expectations for actionable items, and driving the commercialization process through to project completion.  Additionally, the PM will be responsible for tracking activities, identifying at risk or off-schedule milestones, and proactively facilitate creative solutions with cross functional team members.

    Responsibilities

    • With the sales managers, identify and capture project scope including cost targets, packaging, timeline, and deliverables
    • With operations & engineering, lead qualification of new packaging, processing, and/or line equipment
    • With research & development, manage expectation and next steps for commercialization of new and existing formulations
    • Delivery of project scope to procurement; participate in planning and sourcing for new product launches while mitigating internal risk
    • Timeline development and management with sales, customer, internal, and external teams
    • Become an expert for individual customer needs and communicate to the internal cross functional team
    • Lead weekly internal team project meetings
    • Continual improvement of the commercialization process and project management practices
    • Continual development of the tools required to execute clear and repeatable process
    • Routinely evaluate project progress against baseline plan, report progress, and drive action items to completion
    • Facilitate customer relations and provide maintenance to ongoing project needs

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree (business management, operations, supply chain, marketing, engineering)
    • 3-5 years of Project Management experience in CPG industry (discipline, organization, planning, attention to detail, communication tools, and formal PM training); experience in grocery/retail preferred
    • Demonstrated success in leading New Product Development (NPD) projects
    • Ability to manage multiple schedules with demanding/tight timelines
    • Experience managing and mitigating risk
    • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Tactical understanding of how to bring a new product to market
    • Team building, problem solving, & conflict resolution
    • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills; including coaching skills
    • Experience holding project teams and individuals accountable for delivering against plan
    • Effective communicator at all levels and good presentation skills
    • Dynamic, self-motivated, and self-sufficient with ability to cope with pressure and comfort with ambiguity
    • MS Office proficiency, including expertise with Microsoft Project & Excel
    • Experience with Stage-Gate, New Product Development (NPD), and commercialization process
    • External certification preferred (PMI, PMP, APM, IPMA, etc.)
